BAGHDAD - Twelve Kurdish militants have been killed in Turkish raids on PKK positions in northern Iraq, the Turkish army said.
"The warplanes bombed seven targets of the party in the northern Afasin Basian region and killed insurgents believed to be preparing for an attack," a Turkish military statement said.
"Another air strike killed 10 PKK militants late on Saturday in Van province in southeastern Turkey," the statement added.
The Turkish warplanes, in cooperation with the security services and police for more than a year, launched large-scale campaigns against (PKK) inside and outside the country to eliminate the organization, which Turkey says is carrying out terrorist operations against Turkish civilians and soldiers in different Turkish states.
