BAGHDAD / Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi received an invitation from the First Vice President of Iran Yitzhak Jhankiri to visit Iran.
al-Abadi office said in a statement that the Prime Minister received a phone call today from the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Yitzhak Jhankiri , who blessed the victories achieved by the Iraqi forces on Daesh terrorist gangs."
He praised the "wise leadership of Dr. Abadi that contributed to the liberation of the occupied lands," saying: "We are confident that this leadership will achieve final victory over terrorism."
Jhankiri also gave his thanks for the good reception of visitors to Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and expressed his admiration for the ability of the Iraqi armed forces fighting terrorism on the one hand and contribute to secure the visit of the other hand.
He stressed his country's keenness to promote and strengthen relations with Iraq to be typical relations in the region.
The statement noted that Jhankiri directed an invitation to Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to visit Iran.
For his part, Al-Abadi stressed that Iraq is keen to strengthen its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran and an end to some of the outstanding issues through mutual visits.
