Al-Fayad conveys a message from al-Abadi to Putin and discuss with his Russian counterpart developments in the region

BAGHDAD / The National Security Adviser Faleh al-Fayad conveyed a message from Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his discussion with Secretary of the National Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, the "developments in the region and to support ways to combat terrorism."

A statement by the Chancellery of the National Security, "said that Al-Fayad met today in Moscow, Secretary of the National Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, and Undersecretary of State Special Representative of President Putin in the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov, where al-Fayad conveyed a letter from the Prime Minister to President Putin."

The two sides stressed "the importance of developing bilateral relations to serve the common interests between the two countries, as Adviser offered his condolences to the Russian officials for the death of the Russian Ambassador in Turkey," as the statement said.
