Baghdad First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hassan Karim al-Kaabi and the accompanying delegation met Monday with the First Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly, Amir Hussein Qazi Zada Hashemi in the presence of the Iraqi ambassador to Tehran.
A statement by his office stated: “Al-Kaabi and the Iraqi parliamentary delegation discussed with Emir Hashemi the promotion of trade exchange between the two countries through a series of reciprocal measures, the development of parliamentary relations and the exchange of experiences between the two legislative institutions, and he praised the Iranian role in supporting a number of sectors, chiefly gas and electricity.”
During the meeting, the Zionist attacks on Palestine were discussed, and Iraq’s clear, frank and supportive position for the right of the Palestinian people was emphasized, while the Vice President of the Islamic Consultative Council praised the role of Iraq in achieving balance in the region due to its strong relations at the regional and global levels.
The Iraqi representative delegation headed by Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, arrived on Sunday in the Iranian capital, Tehran, to participate in the work of the Palestine Committee meeting of the Union of Members Councils of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which will be held Monday in Tehran to discuss the Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people.
The Iraqi delegation and the parliaments of the Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will discuss during their meeting an axis related to the use of diplomatic and parliamentary capabilities to support the oppressed Palestinian people and put an immediate end to the massacre and human genocide committed by the Zionist entity.
