BAGHDAD / National Iraqi News Agency / Vice President Osama Al-Nujaifi said that "the citizens of Nineveh have the full right to choose their own future in accordance with the Constitution and laws."
His Office said in a statement that Al-Nujaifi received today Italian Ambassador in Iraq Marco Karnillos, where they discussed relations between the two friendly countries and ways of developing them, as well as discussing the political and security developments, particularly the battle to liberate Mosul files.
Moreover, the Ambassador reviewed the developments to address the Mosul Dam by the Italian company and its efforts in the reduction of time, as well as efforts in the restoration and maintenance of monuments sites in Nimrod area in Mosul.
Al-Nujaifi welcomed the positive news for the Mosul Dam, and stressed that "it is important that the Italian company trains Iraqi engineering staff and technicians on new experiences with critical need to leave appliances and equipment used by the company at the dam site to be used later by Iraqi workers."
In his presentation of the developments in the battle to liberate Mosul, Al-Nujaifi referred to the "cooperation and coordination between the forces involved in the liberation operation that left a good impact on the good performance."
On the future of Mosul after liberation, Vice President of the Republic confirmed his positions in this area, stressing that "the citizens of Nineveh have the full right to choose their own future in accordance with the Constitution and laws."
They also discussed, at the meeting to discuss international and regional situation and their impact on Iraq.
