KIRKUK - The head of al- Hawija Liberation Forces in Kirkuk province, Major General Arkan Hamad al-Masari said that all military and security formations will involve in the process of liberating areas south of Kirkuk and its west.
Al-Masari told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that "units of the army, the Peshmerga, the federal and local police, the popular mobilization forces and the tribal fighters will participate in the liberation operations of Hawija, Al-Zab, Riyadh, Abbasi and Al-Rashad, south of Kirkuk and its western areas occupied by Daesh terrorist gangs since 2014.
He added that the success of the plan to liberate Hawija is based on security cooperation and coordination between all formations and the real desire of the residents of the areas south of Kirkuk and its west in support of the military units.
He explained that the military operations will be in accordance with plans set up by the leadership of east of Tigris, which was formed last year and its responsibilities includes Hawija, the vicinity of Dibis and Daqouq and the rest of the provinces and districts of Kirkuk, as well as borders adjacent to al-Alam and Dor of Salahuddin province.
He added, "The military units that will participate in the battle will have a high level coordination between the command of operations and the leadership of the Peshmerga and the PMF towards one goal which is to eliminate Daesh.
Prime Minister Haider Abadi announced two days ago that the liberation of Tal Afar and Hawija will be soon amid news about the start after the Eid al-Fitr.
