Baghdad An official in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan confirmed that technical issues remain to complete the opening of security coordination centers between the Peshmerga forces and the Federal Army forces.
“A meeting will be held these days between military officials in the Nineveh Operations Command and the Peshmerga forces regarding the security coordination center in Sinjar, after which the center will be officially opened,” the official in the media and relations department at the Nineveh Organizations Center of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghayath Surji, said today, Thursday.
Surji added that the headquarters of the operations room for joint coordination between the army and the Peshmerga will be in the Kasak camp, which is close to the Sinjar district center, explaining that the functions of the chamber and its military forces will be in Sinjar district, its outskirts, and its areas.
Surji said that, consultations and discussions are continuing between the West Nineveh Operations Command and the Ministry of Peshmerga and Communications, and there is continuous work to speed up the opening of the coordination room in Sinjar, indicating that some technical and security issues are left to complete the opening of the coordination room
