Baghdad The Parliamentary Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of the Governmental Program and Strategic Planning revealed the fate of the requests to interrogate ministers and officials in the House of Representatives. In a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), Deputy Chairman of the Committee Muhammad al-Baldawi stated, “The Presidency of the Council of Representatives has received a group of requests to interrogate ministers and officials, and it has been decided to refer them to the Parliamentary Committee concerned with interrogation to audit the files and verify formal and objective procedures,” indicating “the presence of interrogation requests to the Ministers of Finance, Industry, Electricity, Higher Education, Oil and Trade, and the Central Bank Governor. He added that “the Presidency of the House of Representatives referred the interrogation files of the ministers of finance, higher education, industry and the governor of the Central Bank to a special committee that includes three legal advisers to look into its formal and legal procedures before setting the dates for the interrogation sessions” Indicating that “the committee to audit interrogation requests has undertaken a set of procedures to audit the files and conform to the formal and substantive procedures for the interrogation files before setting a date. “. Regarding requests to interrogate or host the prime minister, he explained that “there are requests to host the Prime Minister in Parliament, but the time remaining until the elections next October does not allow the Prime Minister to be questioned.” The Presidency of the Council of Representatives decided that the date for the questioning of the Minister of Finance, Ali Allawi, will be at the House of Representatives session scheduled for Monday next week. Baghdad The Iraqi ambassador to Kuwait, Al-Manhal Al-Safi, met the advisor at the Amiri Diwan, Muhammad Dhaif Allah Sharar, at Seif Palace in Kuwait.

“The two sides discussed a number of issues of concern to the two brotherly countries, ways to develop them, and the efforts made in this regard,” a foreign ministry statement said.
