Baghdad / NINA / Representatives of various blocs circulated a new proposal to hold regular bi-weekly sessions to proceed with the approval of important legislation.
Representatives spoke to the correspondent of the Iraqi National News Agency / NINA /, about “a request from the Presidency of Parliament to determine the holding of 3 sessions per week for the current legislative term, one of which is devoted to voting on laws ready for legislation.” The deputies are still in the process of deliberating on the agenda of the meetings. ”
On the other hand, other deputies favored the repetition of the scenario of not achieving a quorum and the difficulty of holding the next sessions on schedule in conjunction with the approaching elections due to the political blocs being preoccupied with promoting their election campaigns and educating their constituencies.
