Prime Minister Saad Hariri received today at the "Center House" the President of the Iraqi "Interfaith Communication and Interfaith Dialogue" (ICID) Jawad al-Khoei, accompanied by the member of the European Council on Foreign Relations Hayder al-Khoei, in the presence of MP Okab Sakr. Al-Khoei stressed that the relations between Shiite and Sunni Muslims are too strong and deep to be reduced to some extremists from here and there.
Hariri also discussed with Health Minister Wael Abu Faour and MP Marwan Hamade, in the presence of Ghattas Khoury, the latest political developments in the country.
After the meeting, MP Hamade said that they came to covey the congratulations of Walid Jumblatt, the Progressive Socialist Party, the National Struggle Front and the Democratic Gathering, on the second Convention of the Future Movement. He added: "What we witnessed during the last two days announces the return of democracy to Lebanon. Premier Hariri and his colleagues in the "Future Movement" gave the best example of this democracy. We hope that all complications and obstacles facing the formation of the government will be solved, and we discussed all the efforts he is exerting to provide Lebanon with a government as soon as possible".
Asked about the results so far of the contacts to form the government, Hamade said: These contacts did not stop and all the parties are participating in them. Things are not obvious to everyone, but the efforts of the President of the Republic and Premier Hariri did not stop".
Hariri also sent a letter to the President of Cuba Raul Castro, offering his condolences for the death of former President Fidel Castro.
