BAGHDAD / Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government Nechirvan Barzani in Arbil discussed with a member of French parliament, a member of the Defense Committee, Jean-Jacques overall situation in the region and the recent visit to Turkey and his meetings held with Turkish President and Prime Minister.
A statement by the Kurdistan Regional Government said, "the French official pointed out that there is very large coordination and cooperation between the Peshmerga forces and French experts at the training centers, stressing that he would deliver all the requirements under the military cooperation between the two sides to the French parliament, and then will be provided to the French Minister of Defense.
He also stressed and his accompanying delegation, "the need for the international community to cooperate with the federal government and the provincial government to help the displaced.
For his part, Barzani thanked France for its continued support to the Kurdistan region, especially in difficult times, adding that the visit of French President Francois Hollande to the Kurdistan region at the beginning of Daesh's attacks against the province has had a very positive impact on the morale of the Peshmerga.
He expressed readiness of the region to resolve all problems with the federal government through dialogue and understanding, especially as the current situation is witnessing strong cooperation and coordination between the two sides and this was a reason to cooperate in achieving a lot of victories.
