Baghdad A member of the Human Rights Commission in Iraq, Dr. Fadel Al-Gharawi, affirmed that the upcoming elections will face three challenges.

In a statement, Al-Gharawi said that elections are considered among the political and democratic rights that must be exercised without any pressure, threats or extortion of votes.

He added that electoral security will be the main pillar for the success of the electoral process, and consequently, forcing participation and threats between political forces, as well as for the voter, and the presence of money and political weapons, will be the most prominent challenges and violations in front of real electoral security.

He added that we call on the government, the Elections Commission and all political forces to strive seriously to fulfill the requirements of electoral security and to create suitable atmospheres for citizens to exercise their right to elections without any pressures or threats that may cause him to refrain from participating.
