Iraq Ranks 14th In UN Security Council’s International classification of arms control

BAGHDAD - Iraq was ranked 14th in the UN Security Council's International classification of arms control.

"The ministry got an international classification from the International Standards Organization for the Control of Weapons, which belongs to the UN Security Council's disarmament committee," Interior Ministry media advisor Wahab al-Taie said in a statement.

The statement added that "this classification is an important achievement for Iraq, which is the first of its kind at the national, regional and global levels, adding to the nomination of the Republic of Iraq to head the International Committee on Arms Issues in the 72nd session of 2017," added that "The technical role shows the commitment of the Republic of Iraq to the best international standards in building its institutions and strengthening its position internationally."
