Baghdad The Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nizar Al-Khairallah, met today, Sunday, with the new Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Baghdad, Elbrus Kotrashev, and they discussed the development of bilateral relations in various fields.
The Senior Undersecretary affirmed, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ministry’s support for the ambassador’s work, which aims to raise the level of cooperation between the two friendly countries to a level commensurate with the volume of historical relations that link them in the political, economic and cultural fields.
Al-Khairallah called for serious work between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Embassy to provide facilities for Iraqi businessmen wishing to obtain a Russian visa, students studying in Russian universities and other groups.
During the meeting, a number of regional and international files of interest to both sides were discussed, including the file of combating international terrorism, the Syrian crisis, the situation in the Middle East, and other topics.
