Jaafari: 40 Out Of 56 Districts In Mosul Freed.. The Delay In Liberating The City To Reduce Losses

BAGHDAD / Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said, "Iraqi forces managed to free 40 districts out of 56 in the city of Mosul in Nineveh province from the control of the terrorist organization Daesh.

He added in a press statement to / Sputnik / Russian Agency, "the city has been isolated from the five bridges that link the two sides of the city on Tigris River. And also the three connecting roads between Mosul and Aleppo have been controlled by the Iraqi security forces."

Jaafari added, "the Iraqi army takes a long time in the battle to liberate Mosul in order to reduce the losses and to save the city with the least possible damage," noting," We are giving time to preserve lives of the civilians."

The commander of anti-terror Forces Lt. Gen. Abdul-Ghani al-Asadi announced in 22 of this month that in the next few days, we will announce liberating the left coast of Mosul entirely.
