Baghdad The Joint Operations Command confirmed the existence of high security coordination between the federal forces and the Peshmerga in the disputed areas, to fight ISIS.

Command spokesman Major General Tahseen Al-Khafaji said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “A lot of security discussions took place between Baghdad and Erbil about security in the disputed areas,” noting: “Many joint work centers have been opened in Erbil, Baghdad, Diyala, Nineveh, Kirkuk and the areas that require joint coordination between the federal forces and the Peshmerga in order to combat the terrorist organization ISIS.

The President of the Kurdistan region, Nechirvan Barzani, had earlier called on Parliament, the federal government, and the International Alliance, to move quickly to fill the security vacuum in the disputed areas, against the background of the attacks launched by the terrorist organization in a number of those areas.
