BAGHDAD - Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri discussed with a number of MPs of Iraqi forces coalition, the latest political and security developments in Iraq.
"The meeting discussed developments in the political and security situation in Iraq and the victories achieved by the security forces against the terrorism, which reached its end in Mosul, and ways to intensify efforts to return the displaced people to their homes and end their suffering," the speaker's office said in a statement.
He also pointed out that the post-Daesh phase has also been discussed, stressing the importance of investing the momentum of victory over terrorism in strengthening brotherly ties and seeking stability, creating conditions for launching stage of economic development and opening horizons for cooperation between Iraq and its Arab and regional neighbors.
The attendees also discussed the challenges faced by some liberated areas, the need to preserve the Iraqi social fabric, support the democratic process in the country and reinforce the orientations aimed at developing the service and living conditions of the citizens.
