Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Monday the Speaker of Parliament, Salim al Jabouri, called for a general amnesty for prisoners on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr with the exception those with “blood on their hands” while he affirmed that “there is a radical agenda behind the displacement of Christians.”

He pointed out that “this feast comes at an exceptional moment in the history of modern Iraq” pointing out that “the feast occurs while more than half of the population in the provinces of Nineveh, Salahuddin, Anbar and Diyala. They have left their homes, their towns and villages to escape with their lives from the fires of armed conflict caused by the terrorist groups of the organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.”
