A presidential statement stated that the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received today, Tuesday, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Palestinian Ambassador Ahmed Aql, and during the meeting, they discussed developments in the situation in al-Quds and the Palestinian territories, and the inhumane abuses and attacks that the Palestinian people are exposed to in the city of al-Quds and the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the fall of many unarmed civilians, accompanied by the restrictions on Palestinians in al-Quds, and the need to stop these actions that violate human rights and international law.
The President of the Republic renewed Iraq’s position regarding the centrality of the Palestinian issue, its support in international forums, and standing by the brotherly Palestinian people in achieving their aspirations and achieving their full legitimate rights, stressing the importance of solidarity, coordination and effective action at all levels, Arab, Islamic and international, to end this suffering and protect the rights of the Palestinian people and to prevent attacks against him. “
For his part, Palestinian Ambassador Ahmed Aql expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic, praising Iraq’s official, political and popular stance towards the events taking place in Palestine, and Iraq’s support for the rights and just cause of the Palestinian people, and Iraq’s adherence to the need for the Palestinian people to obtain full legitimate rights and stop the attacks to which they are exposed.
