BAGHDAD - Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz issued new royal orders early Wednesday, under which Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef was relieved of all his government posts and Prince Mohammed bin Salman was appointed to his place.
Mohammed bin Salman became crown prince and deputy prime minister while retaining the post of defense minister.
The royal orders came only two days after the royal orders were issued to strip Prince Mohammed bin Nayef of his judicial powers. A royal order was issued to change the name of the Judicial Investigation Commission and turn it into a public prosecutor linked to the King through the Minister of Justice.
A royal order was also issued appointing Prince Abdul-Aziz bin Saud bin Nayef as interior minister. .
