Baghdad Anti-terrorism Agency Spokesman Sabah al-Nu’man announced the implementation of specific security operations against ISIS elements on the border with Syria.
The Spokesman of the agency said in a statement to NINA that protecting the borders is the responsibility of the Border Forces Command of the Ministry of Interior, but during the last period, the Anti-terrorism Agency forces have carried out specific security operations on the Iraqi-Syrian borders, especially by using airdrops by aircraft. The forces of the Agency went to important areas in the desert west of Anbar, and from there in Wadi Houran. Some ISIS hosts were destroyed and a number of terrorists were killed in the rugged desert areas in which ISIS militants were hiding. ”
On the other hand, Al-Nu’man confirmed that there is a very high intelligence and information coordination with the security services in the Kurdistan region, where there is an exchange of intelligence information during the previous period, where a number of terrorists were arrested in light of information and joint coordination with the Kurdistan region, especially the terrorists who were hiding in the Kurdistan region. It is also possible to conduct joint security operations with them, especially in the areas separating the federal government from the region. ”
