The Federal Police Kill 16 Prominent Leaders Of Daesh In Central Mosul

MOSUL - The federal police forces have taken control on large parts of the old city of Mosul, according to a security source.

The source told the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that "the federal police forces have taken control on large neighborhoods in Shafaa and Saa areas in Zanjili region after storming them by all forces participating in the process of liberating the Mosul center."

He added that "the police forces killed 16 senior leaders of Daesh in Zanjili area during the confrontations and were able to detonate (seven) car bombs in Shafaa area in the center of Mosul."

He added that "security forces and rapid reaction forces are now involved in the liberation operations the center of the city to save unarmed civilians in the center of Mosul."
