The Indian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs assured NINA that his country is waiting for the Iraqi side to request India’s participation in reconstruction

" BAGHDAD / The Indian Foreign Minister Vijay Kumar Singh said that his country's relations with Iraq extend for many centuries, and the two peoples have extensive trade and economic exchanges and India has a clear interest in Iraq.

"India is waiting for a clear proposal from the Iraqi government on the work of the Indian government to work in Iraq through construction in the liberated areas and the rest of Iraq," Singh told NNA news agency.

And he congratulated the people and the government in Iraq for the great victories, especially in Mosul, and we are fully convinced of the ability of the Iraqi people to restore strength and great days and India is ready for any assistance requested by the Iraqi side.

He said that his country is pleased with the visit by Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari to India on July 24 to discuss bilateral relations and ways to develop them in all fields.

Singh arrived in Baghdad on Sunday for a short visit during which he met with Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari and national security adviser Faleh al-Fayyad to discuss bilateral relations and ways to develop them in all fields.
