The Turkish Ambassador declares the near to withdraw his country’s troops stationed inside Iraqi territory
BAGHDAD / Vice President Nouri al-Maliki discussed with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq Farouq Qimagji, the developments in the political and security situation, as well as the challenges facing Iraq and the region.
Al-Maliki reiterated, during the meeting which was held yesterday on the occasion of the end of the work of the Turkish Ambassador tasks , "the importance of strengthening relations between Iraq and Turkey," and expressed hope that developed in the interests of the two friendly peoples, according to a statement to the Office of al-Maliki.
Al-Maliki called for the coordination of positions towards the issues of common concern, wishing to Qimagji success in the next office.
For his part, Qimagji expressed his country's readiness to support Iraq in its war against terrorism, stressing Turkey to respect Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity and non-interference in its internal affairs, and declaring the near withdraw of his country's troops stationed inside Iraqi territory.
