Baghdad Areas of the Gaza Strip were hit, this morning, Saturday, by artillery shelling from Israeli tanks and gunboats.
According to the Palestinian News Agency, Israeli tanks and gunboats bombed the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, the town of Beit Hanoun, and the Gaza beach.
The Palestinian Agency confirmed that dozens of artillery shells were fired from tanks at the homes of Palestinian citizens in the aforementioned areas, which caused casualties among the citizens and damage to their homes.
It explained that the Israeli naval boats also fired shells towards the Gaza beach, and burned a large number of fishermen’s boats on the beach, in the fishermen’s port, west of Gaza City, and on the beach of Deir al-Balah, in the middle of the Strip.
It is noteworthy that for the sixth day, the Israeli warplanes continued their bombing of various targets in the Gaza Strip, while Palestinian medical sources confirmed, earlier on Friday evening, that eight civilians were killed, including 6 children and two women, as a result of an Israeli bombardment targeting a house belonging to Abu Hatab family, in a camp o the beach, west of Gaza City, without warning its residents, and that 15 were wounded, while rescue operations are still continuing.
Earlier, Tel Aviv strengthened its presence on the border with the Gaza Strip and deployed forces, amid expectations that the ground incursion would begin in an escalation of the fighting with the Palestinian factions for several days.
On Friday, the Palestinian presidency condemned the “programmed killings” carried out by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and al-Quds, as the number of victims of the Israeli bombing reached 122 in Gaza, and 7 in the West Bank so far.
Hamas said in a statement that “the massacre committed by Israel against civilians in Al-Shati refugee camp is a full-fledged war crime, and reflects the ugliness of the terror practiced by the occupation against the Palestinian people.”
