Baquba The security services imposed strict measures in the security checkpoints between Diyala and the Kurdistan region to prevent the flow of imported wheat to the silos of the Ministry of Trade in the governorate.
A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “Tight security measures have been taken in the checkpoints spread on the main roads between Diyala and Kurdistan region to prevent the entry of wheat banned from import into the governorate, to be marketed by some traders to Silos of the Ministry of Trade after seizing large quantities of imported wheat in recent days. ”
He added, “Strict legal measures will be taken against those who transport imported wheat to Diyala.”
A local official had warned against marketing wheat, which is prohibited from importing, to the stores of the Ministry of Trade.
