BAGHDAD / Turkish fighter jets destroyed 12 sites belonging to the/ PKK / in northern Iraq yesterday.
Turkish military sources said "the Turkish air force carried out raids targeted / Zab / area in northern Iraq which resulted in the destruction of its headquarters, and locations of weapons belonging to the PKK ."
The sources added, "These raids come two days after the two terrorist attacks in Istanbul, which killed more than 35 people and wounded more than 150 others.".
The Turkish air forces occasionally violate Iraqi airspace to target PKK's sites and prosecute its members in northern Iraq, in response to attacks inside Turkish territory. / End
