White House: The Crisis Between Qatar And The Gulf States Is A (Family Issue)

BAGHDAD - The United States has described the crisis between Qatar and other Gulf states as a "family issue".

"If they want us to facilitate the talks between them, we will, otherwise they will solve the crisis by themselves," White House spokesman Sean Spicer told reporters in Washington.

Saudi Arabia and three allied countries - Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt - accuse Qatar of financing terrorism and destabilizing the region. Doha denies the charges.

US President Donald Trump has taken a tough line from Qatar, calling it a "big supporter of terrorism," but the biggest US military base is in Qatar.
