Baquba The Diyala Police Command announced the implementation of two security operations to pursue ISIS cells in the areas east and north-east of Baquba.
A source in Diyala police told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA: “The forces of the Diyala police carried out two security operations at the same time, which included searching villages on the outskirts of Kanaan district, east of Baquba, and the villages of Al-Sakhoul within Al-Mansuriyah district, northeast of Baquba.”
He added, “The two operations aim to pursue ISIS hideouts and dens and prevent ISIS from resuming its terrorist activity in the region.”
On the other hand, the explosives handling unit in Diyala police dismantled two explosive devices prepared for detonation, which were found near a tower for the transmission of electric power in the village of Al-Wandiya, on the outskirts of Khalis, north of Baquba.
