Activists In Khanaqin Warn Against Exploiting The Demonstrations For Political Gains

Baquba Civil activists in Khanaqin district in Diyala governorate warned against exploiting popular demonstrations for political purposes far from the demands and rights of the people of the district .

One of the activists told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / today that the peaceful demonstrations in Khanaqin, northeast of Baquba, were divided by splits, some called for real solutions to the electricity and water shortage, and others called for the dismissal of the mayor of Khanaqin and the directors of the corrupt departments. He warned against exploiting the popular demonstrations to achieve political gains far from the demands and rights of the people of Khanaqin, noting that “the electricity and water crises are not borne by the administration and departments of Khanaqin, but rather a crisis beyond the powers and capabilities of the province’s administration.”

Demonstrators in Khanaqin blocked al-Mundhiriya-Khanaqin international road and threatened massive demonstrations to protest the electricity and drinking water crisis and the lack of other services.
