Baghdad / NINA / – The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, chaired today, Wednesday, a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security, during which the latest developments in the security situation in the country were discussed.
The meeting discussed the electoral security file, security plans to protect the elections, and support the commission’s procedures with the aim of providing a safe environment for elections, and protecting polling stations and candidates.
The council also discussed the situation in Sinjar district, Nineveh Governorate, the measures taken to establish security there, the implementation of the Sinjar Agreement, and emphasizing the rejection and condemnation of attacks targeting the district.
The Council condemned unilateral military actions that offend the principles of good neighborliness, refusing to use Iraqi lands to settle scores from any party./End
