Basra A delegation from the Japanese agency JICA visited the northern and southern ports of Umm Qasr and was briefed on the progress of work in them.

In a statement, the Director General of the Ports Company, Farhan Muhaisin Al-Fartousi, stressed the need to facilitate procedures for visiting foreign delegations to see the progress of the work of the ports and their procedures, and to find out the mechanisms used in the work of ports: He indicated that the company’s senior management and its staff are working around the clock in order to develop ports to join the ranks of the world’s ports.

Al-Fartousi explained that the delegation was briefed on the progress of the work mechanism, how to clear goods and their types, the work of joint operating companies, knowledge of the depths adjacent to the sidewalks and heavy equipment, and the collection of wages for goods, handling operations and the security aspect.
