Kurdistan Parliament calls on the regional government to provide financial statements and prepare a budget for next year

Baghdad The Finance and Economic Affairs Committee of the Kurdistan Parliament called on the Kurdistan Regional Government to submit a financial statement for the first six months of 2021.

The Committee stated in a statement, that it “held today, a regular meeting, which touched in one of its paragraphs on the region’s budget for the year 2021,” noting that it “sent a letter to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the region asking it to prepare the budget for the next year 2022 instead of sending the budget for the current year 2021, in order that it can be sent on its legal date in the month of next October to Parliament.”

The statement explained that “the committee also called on the government, instead of sending the region’s budget bill for the year 2021, to send to Parliament two financial statements for the first and second half of the current year 2021, and that at the end of the fiscal year it sends the final accounts and the financial control report to Parliament.”
