Baghdad The Government Media Cell announced that the Ministry of Water Resources continues to coordinate efforts with the Ministry of Electricity, by carrying out specialized works to deliver water quotas to power plants, to ensure the continuity and permanence of electrical energy supply.
It said in a statement that this comes out of the principle of joint work in the spirit of one team, and in order to provide basic services to citizens as quickly as possible.
Despite the lack of water revenues in large dams and other dams, in coordination with the Ministry of Electricity, the Ministry implemented the completion of the work of the electrical station of the Al-Edhaim Dam, raising sediments in front of the intakes of stations (Al-Najibiyah / Basra 19158 m3), removing sediments and water weeds with a capacity of 476400 m3, and removing the middle island from the Tigris river, opposite the Zubaidiah-Wasit power station, after a period of work that lasted for three continuous years.
It pointed out that the Ministry has completed the removal of sediments from the channel connecting to the outlets of the (Baiji / Salah al-Din 791,625 m3) station, and the removal of sediments through the intakes of the South Baghdad Thermal Power Station.
The Cell clarified that the Ministry continues to coordinate fully with the Ministry of Electricity and the rest of the ministries; in order to ensure the continuity of all stations, and the delivery of the necessary water to the cooling systems, in addition to the other tasks shared by the two Ministries.
