Baghdad The Holy Karbala Municipality confirmed the assassination of its Director, today, Tuesday, by one of the violators of public money during a municipal campaign to remove the abuses in Al-Ma’malji area, in the west of the province.
Karbala Municipality Media Director Muhammad al-Musawi said, in a press statement, that “one of the violators shot the municipality Director, Engineer Abeer Salim Nasser al-Khafaji, who was accompanying the campaign while following up a project in al-Ma’malji area. He was shot three times in the chest area, and Al-Khafaji was taken to the hospital, where he died of his gunshot wounds.
Today, Tuesday, the security forces arrested the sons of the killer of the Mayor of the holy city of Karbala, after their culprit father fled after he shot the municipality Director.
Local medical circles in the holy governorate of Karbala announced the death of the municipality director, Abeer Salim, after several attempts to save his life at Al-Hussein Medical Hospital, as a result of being shot in the chest and back.
