Mahmoud Othman: US military Forces Will Not Withdraw From Iraq Completely / More

Baghdad The independent Kurdish politician Mahmoud Othman confirmed: “The military forces affiliated with the United States of America will not withdraw from Iraq completely.”

Othman said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The Biden administration does not want to withdraw from Iraq completely, but it wants to reduce the number of forces stationed in Iraq under several names, including experts and advisors, and therefore there is no complete withdrawal of US forces from Iraq.”

He explained: “The escalation between the armed factions and the American forces in Iraq depends on the results of the (Vienna) talks between Iran and the United States and the European countries regarding the Iranian nuclear agreement. If it fails, we will witness a military escalation in Iraq during the coming period.”

He pointed out: “Some Shiite blocs wish to evacuate all US forces from Iraq, according to the decision of the Iraqi parliament, but this will not happen because the Biden administration adheres to keep part of the US forces in Iraq, as well as Syria, to protect its interests in the region.”
