Najaf The Najaf Police Command confirmed that the shooting incident in Al-Hira district resulted in the killing of a number of people, including the mayor of the area, and the wounding of others.

An official statement by the Najaf police indicated, “what happened in Al-Hira district is not a clan dispute, but rather a dispute over debts and sums of money, which unfortunately resulted in the killing of four people, including the mayor of the area and a woman, and the wounding of two others as preliminary information.”

The statement added, “the security services at the scene of the accident are still completing their legal procedures.”
