Qubad Talabani and Australian Ambassador discuss a number of important issues on both sides

 

Baghdad Deputy Prime Minister in the Kurdistan Region Qubad Talabani discussed today, Tuesday, with Australian Ambassador to Iraq Paula Canley, a number of important issues on both sides.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed “Iraq’s security conditions and the dangers of the return of the terrorist organization ISIS, and their views agreed on the need to increase coordination between the Kurdistan region, the federal government and the international coalition against ISIS to confront the dangers of this organization and the phenomenon of terrorism in general.”

On the upcoming Iraqi elections, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Australian delegation stressed that the elections will be held on their scheduled time, the tenth of next October, in a free and transparent manner to be a strong basis for forming the next government in Iraq.

The reform and efforts to end corruption in the Kurdistan region were also discussed, and during that, Qubad Talabani called on Australia to help more in developing agriculture and water resources in the Kurdistan region, explaining that the program of the regional government is to make agriculture an important source of revenue and the economy of the Kurdistan region.
