Baghdad The MP Kadhim Al-Shammari confirmed that the Governor of Baghdad will be hosted in the House of Representatives for committing legal and constitutional violations and preference for his personal interests over the interests of the people of the capital, indicating that if he is not satisfied with his answers, the Prime Minister will be asked to dismiss him of his duties to devote himself to his electoral campaign.
Al-Shammari said in a statement today, that: At a time when the Iraqi street in general and Baghdadi people in particular is witnessing a public turmoil due to the deterioration of services and infrastructure, we see some officials, headed by the governor of Baghdad, the candidate for the electoral constituency (17) busy with his electoral campaign and ignoring the demands of the masses and what they suffer from lack of services and infrastructure, including electric power, which has become the dream of every Iraqi.
He explained that: The focus of the Governor of Baghdad on his electoral constituency has led to the delay in approving the 2021 budget and the failure to implement and follow up on the 2019-2020 budgets, as only 30% of them have been implemented, and this is a serious breach of the duties of the job. Is it conceivable that Baghdad governorate, which has four million people (the equivalent of the population of three governorates) without a budget until the moment of preparing this statement while we are at the gates of the dead month of July? What negligence and disregard for the law and what sense of irresponsibility this! .
Al-Shammari continued: In front of our constitutional and moral responsibility, we believe that we must confront this legal and constitutional breach by the governor of Baghdad, who preferred his personal interests over the interest of the Baghdad governorate and its four million inhabitants, so the governor will be hosted inside the parliament. And if his answers are not satisfied, we will ask the Prime Minister to dismiss him of his duties so that he can devote himself to his electoral campaign.
