Minister of Planning Discusses With An Official In Int’l Migration Joint Cooperation To End The Suffering Of The Displaced

 

Baghdad Minister of Planning Khaled Battal Al-Najm met with the Special Envoy of the Director General of the International Organization for Migration, Othman Balisi, and his accompanying delegation.

A statement by the Ministry of Planning stated, “The two parties discussed during the meeting, which was attended by the Director General of the International Cooperation Department in the Ministry of Planning, Saher Abdel-Kadhim, a number of issues and files related to joint cooperation between the two sides, and the work of the International Organization for Migration in Iraq.”

The Minister expressed the Ministry of Planning’s readiness to provide all possible facilities that help the organization perform its tasks, especially with regard to dealing with the file of the displaced, and migrants, noting: “The Iraqi government is making great efforts to end the suffering of the displaced by providing the appropriate conditions to secure voluntary return, within the framework of the national plan that the Ministry of Migration and Displacement is working to implement, “calling on the International Organization for Migration, to support Iraq’s efforts, with regard to providing better conditions for Iraqis migrating to different countries.”

For his part, the official of the mission of the International Organization for Migration, and the Special Envoy of its Director-General, expressed full readiness to cooperate with the Iraqi side, in various humanitarian fields, and to support the efforts of the Iraqi government, in dealing with the file of the displaced and the migrants.”
