The Workshop For The Iraqi National Dialogue Project Kicked Off In Najaf/ More

 

Najaf The activities of the workshop for the Iraqi National Dialogue project was launched at the Teachers Institute for Graduate Studies in Najaf, under the auspices of the European Union mission.

Nassif Naim, who is responsible for the workshop sessions, said, “The Iraqi national dialogue project is not a political project, but a new dialogue project to establish and consolidate a new social contract targeting all components of the Iraqi people. Our choice of Najaf came due to its important position and the role of the religious authority in it, which contributed to the consolidation of civil peace to protect Iraq with all its sects and minorities.

Naim indicated that the project’s workshops are held in Najaf for three consecutive days, after which recommendations will be issued, and a group of researchers, academics, presidents of universities and members of the House of Representatives will participate, in addition to representatives of diplomatic missions of the European Union countries, Switzerland, France, Germany, Spain and Britain, and the project’s executive officer, Alaa Al-Bahadli.

He stressed, “The workshop will discuss the contribution and vision of the religious authority in supporting the concept of a civil state and contributing to the success of the elections, and the role of society in promoting the concept of citizenship, Iraqi identity, national unity, moderate religious discourse and peaceful coexistence.
