Baghdad The independent Iraqi politician Mahmoud Othman said that the region and Iraq will witness an escalation between Iran and the United States of America after the election of Ibrahim Raisi as Iran’s president.
Othman said in an exclusive statement to (NINA) that Raisi is the candidate of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei, and he is more hostile to America than the former Iranian president. The region will witness an escalation between Iran and the United States.”
He explained that Iraq will be an arena for a more intense Iranian-American conflict, where Raisi will work to unify and support the Iraqi armed factions that target the American forces in Iraq from time to time, pointing out that the Iraqi government is very weak towards the work of the armed factions and is unable to curb their wing, and deal with them on the basis of patience and wisdom, this is useless.”
On Saturday morning, Iranian television announced that Ibrahim Raisi had won the presidential election.
The head of the elections committee in the Iranian Ministry of Interior, Jamal Araf, said: “The candidate Ibrahim Raisi won (62%) of the votes compared to (11%) for his closest rival, candidate Mohsen Rezaei, according to the preliminary results.
