The Independent High Electoral Commission Confirms Its Readiness For The October 10 Date

Baghdad The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) reiterated its full readiness to achieve the date of October 10, 2021 to hold the elections.

The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge Jalil Adnan Khalaf, indicated, during his meeting today, Wednesday, with the Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, that “the Commission is now focusing on making more efforts to communicate with voters in the media and to clarify the nature of the Commission’s procedures from a year ago until today.”

He added, “The commission has completed all the preparations that will enable it to hold the elections at the technical and legal levels.”

For his part, the Russian ambassador affirmed that his country maintains a stable and lasting relationship with Iraq, and that Russia has a desire to send a number of observers who will participate in following up and evaluating the upcoming elections, praising the efforts and preparations made by the commission for months to implement the upcoming elections.
