Baghdad The European Union acknowledged the victory of the Taliban movement in Afghanistan and called for dialogue with it.
“The Taliban won the war and we will have to talk to them,” Josep Borrell, the EU’s foreign affairs coordinator, told a news conference.
He added, “We discussed a preliminary assessment of the events, and how to deal with the new situation in Afghanistan.”
