Al-Kadhimi Discusses, By Phone, With Al-Sisi A Number Of Regional Issues Of Common Interest

Baghdad The official spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency announced that: President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received today a phone call from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

He said in a statement that: the contact dealt with discussions on the developments of a number of regional issues of common interest, especially the latest developments in Afghanistan, in addition to a number of issues of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Kadhimi affirmed Iraq’s appreciation for the Egyptian efforts in support of the Iraqi issue at all levels, and aspiration to strengthen cooperation frameworks with Egypt, especially with regard to confronting common challenges, foremost of which is combating terrorism and achieving security, stability and development.

from his side; Al-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s support for every effort that would enhance the security and stability of Iraq, and Al-Kadhimi’s efforts to strengthen the role of the Iraqi state institutions and preserve the sovereignty and Arabness of Iraq, stressing that Egypt will continue to work to strengthen cooperation frameworks with the brotherly Iraqi side in various fields, whether at the bilateral level or within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Iraq and Jordan.
