Baghdad The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented today, Monday, on the bombing of sites in Syria and Iraq, at dawn today, by the American forces.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said: “Raising tension in the region is not in the interest of the United States of America,” stressing that “the United States is going on the wrong path, and that the strikes in Syria and Iraq are part of its arrogance.”
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, addressed Washington, saying: “We advise the new American administration in the United States to change its course instead of creating a crisis and creating problems for the peoples of the region, and to let the peoples of the region decide their fate without its interference,” noting that “Washington should correct its mistakes and stop its interference in the region.”
He added: “America’s actions destabilize the security of the region, and this will not be in its interest.”
It is mentioned that the US Department of Defense announced that its air forces bombed “weapon storage facilities for pro-Iranian factions” in two locations, one inside Syria and another in Iraq.
The ministry said in a statement that the bombing “comes in response to the attacks by drones launched by these factions on American personnel and facilities in Iraq.”
