The arrest of a person blackmailing citizens by claiming to appoint them in exchange for sums of money in Anbar

Baghdad The security forces arrested a person who blackmailed citizens by claiming that they were appointed as the staff of the National Security Agency.

The Security Media Cell stated in a statement: “This person was deceiving citizens and obtaining from them sums of up to (20) thousand US dollars.”

It added: “The statements of the accused were written down and referred to the competent judicial authorities to take fair measures against him.”

The National Security Agency had warned against falling into the trap of fraudsters, and at the same time called on citizens to report such people and register complaints against them by calling the free hotline (131).
