Baghdad The Minister of Culture, Hassan Nadhem, announced the arrival of 17,000 antiquities to Iraq, coming from the United States, after an agreement between the two sides to return the smuggled Iraqi antiquities.
Nadhem said during a press conference held at Baghdad International Airport that the archaeological artifacts that arrived in Iraq are from the clay figure. Iraq recovered them and returned to their original land.”
He pointed out that “the recovered antiquities came with the unremitting efforts of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture represented by the Antiquities and Heritage Authority and an effort from the Iraqi Embassy in Washington.”
He added, “Iraq will continue to work to recover the antiquities that were stolen and looted from the country, and the recovered antiquities will be displayed in the Iraqi Museum.”
