The Minister of Culture Discusses With His Emirati Counterpart Proposals Of The Engineers Syndicate On The Winning Design For Reconstruction of Al-Nuri Mosque And Al-Hadba Minaret

Baghdad The Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Hassan Nadhim, held a virtual meeting today, Sunday, with the UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Noura Al-Kaabi, to discuss the outputs of the proposals of the Engineers Syndicate on the winning design for the reconstruction of Al-Nuri Mosque and Al-Hadba Minaret.

The meeting discussed, according to the ministry’s statement, the proposals of the Engineers Syndicate in its previous meeting with the Minister of Culture, in the presence of advisors from the Presidency of the Republic and the Prime Minister, where Nadhim and Al-Kaabi confirmed their adoption of the syndicate’s proposals.

The meeting also discussed the follow-up to the process of building local capacities by the International Center for the Study of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICROM) in Mosul by training 100 people in crafts and 100 on building and reconstructing archaeological sites, as well as discussing the expansion of cultural relations between Iraq and the UAE through holding cultural weeks and exchanging visits by artists and writers between the two countries.
