Baghdad / NINA / – Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein received a copy of the credentials of Jonas Lofven, the new Swedish Ambassador to Baghdad, and they discussed bilateral relations between Baghdad and Stockholm, and ways to enhance them to achieve the interests of the two friendly peoples.
During the meeting, Hussein affirmed the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide all support for the success of the diplomatic mission’s work, expressing thanks and appreciation of Iraq for Sweden’s supportive stances in international forums, looking forward to increasing the volume of cooperation between the two countries.
He called for the signing of memoranda of understanding in various fields, and the contribution of Swedish companies to the reconstruction of the infrastructure of Iraqi cities.
For his part, Jonas Lofven, Sweden’s new Ambassador to Iraq, stressed the depth and strength of relations between Baghdad and Stockholm, indicating: We will work on everything that would enhance cooperation between the two countries in various fields./End
